ASHLEY ARMITAGE

Originally from Seattle, Ashley is now based in Chicago. At 15, she dove into photography after noticing a lack of diversity and representation in the media. After establishing herself as a successful photographer, Billie, the innovative women’s razor brand, approached Ashley to direct her first advertising film. This resulted in the first-ever commercial to break beauty standards and taboos by showing real women shaving real body hair. The bold approach was a global success and launched an industry-wide trend. The campaign also made the Glass Lion shortlist and won a People’s Voice Webby for Advertising, Media & PR Brand Strategy.

Blending striking imagery with a progressive perspective, Ashley’s work challenges beauty norms and redefines outdated societal boundaries often with a sense of humor. She continues to inspire the next generation of female filmmakers through her colorful and candid campaigns. Ashley’s refreshing style and honest perspective on storytelling have garnered worldwide attention.

Her visuals have been featured in Dazed, Glamour, and Refinery29. Her portfolio includes films for Nike, H&M, SuperShe, plus-size fashion brand Torrid, and Converse, featuring Alex Corsani.
